Ernie started his career as a staff accountant with Shoney’s, Inc. and served in various financial and legal positions over his 22 year tenure with the company. While at Shoney’s, Ernie played a key role in over $2.3 billion of debt financings and led the acquisition of the company’s largest franchisee. Upon his eventual departure, he was the company’s Secretary/Treasurer and General Counsel. He then went on to serve as CFO and General Counsel at ADS Security for 17 years, managing all of the company’s accounting, legal, risk management and human resources functions and helping to significantly grow the business organically and through multiple acquisitions.

Ernie holds a BS degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee, a law degree from the Nashville School of Law and is a CPA and licensed attorney.
