HOW IT STARTED
Gallaher & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1973 by Roy Gallaher, beginning as a rep firm carrying a variety of electrical manufacturers with products ranging from fire alarm systems to power distribution and lighting sold to end users and electrical contractors and grew from there into the company we are today.

1982
World's Fair - Knoxville Tennessee
Gallaher’s growth and reputation for excellence began to evolve more with the successful completion of the fire alarm systems installation in the International Pavilions at the 1982 World's Fair.​
1993
20th Anniversary
​Gallaher had a solid team and foundation, of which many of those team members are still here today. In the same year, Roy’s son, Tom, joined the company full-time after graduating from Radford University with a BBA in operations management and a mathematics minor. This started the mission of growth and expansion into security and other lines of low voltage technologies and services.
2000
Chattanooga Branch Office Opens
​
Roy opened an office in Chattanooga and began expansion into the industrial, municipality and educational industries as well as geographic expansion into doing business in north GA and Alabama. As part of the second-generation family succession and purchase plan, Tom began transitioning into leadership-based roles within the organization to better understand how to run the business.
2008
35th Anniversary
​
The company had begun to do larger projects in surrounding states and had broadened its market share and solutions portfolio to one of the most complete low voltage solution providers in Tennessee. It was time to begin the transition of ownership and passing of the baton.
2010
Tom Gallaher Named CEO
​
Tom Gallaher became CEO with the plan of maintaining his father’s value system and standards of excellence and began formally building them into the everyday culture of the company as it expanded.
2020
Max Thomas Returns as President
​​
Max Thomas returned to the company as President due to the unwavering values of the company, and the solid tenure of so many of the employees. He is working closely with Tom building profitable growth and innovation for the company, while preserving the values and culture the company is founded upon.
2023
50th Anniversary
​​
Gallaher entered rarified air, serving clients and the community for half a century. It was a commemorative year, receiving a state General Assembly proclamation and hosting a charity golf tournament benefiting the local United Way. This charity golf tournament is now an annual event to support the local community.
Today
Continued Growth
​
Today the company continues to grow and innovate, with Max Thomas leading the company as President and Tom Gallaher as majority owner and CEO. Roy Gallaher is still a board member of TNSI and contributes to the company’s success with input or ideas. The company today, now known as Gallaher Fire, Security & Communications has offices in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville, serving all surrounding states and thousands of customers on service contracts with over 400 active projects at any given time.

Our Operations Team works diligently every day to ensure our customers are taken care of, by delivering optimum value through well-executed project installations, repairing issues with existing products, or ensuring facilities are properly monitored, maintained, and inspected for regulatory compliance.
